One great place to find “upcoming” information, features, phones and whatnot from Verizon Wireless is their “testman” staging site where they essentially “practice” things they’re about to bring live. Spotted recently on the site: user submitted reviews of phones as seen below:

AT&T has been doing this successfully for quite awhile now but I do have some concerns:

• Will Verizon delete extremely negative/harsh reviews? How the comments are policed will be important factor in the feature’s success or failure
• Will the stars work correctly? Hoping that, like in the first example, the phone won’t be rated a 2 overall when all the categories were rated a 3… but that’s probably why it’s only on testman.
• How are they verifying customers? Can anybody review? Do you have to be a VZW customer to write a review? Somehow validating commenters would greatly contribute the value of the review system
• Who needs this when you have all your friends at VerizonVoyager.org?!?!??

We like the new ideas, Verizon… keep them coming! I’m eager to see this go live and hope it does… and sooner rather than later!
