Samsung Alias2 Keyboard Shifts Shapes
| by verizon voyager on March 27th, 2009 |
It would seem that Verizon Wireless has a newfound obsession with attracting new phones that have innovative keyboards in an industry where you have good keyboards and bad keyboards but seldom innovative keyboards.
- First was the BlackBerry Storm
- Next was the LG Versa
- Now the Samsung Alias2
Touchscreens have the ability to dynamically change what buttons are on the screen based on what you press. Physical keyboards? Not so much. Unless you have the Alias2 of course. The phone can supposedly adjust the content and purpose of the buttons depending on how you are holding the keyboard (landscape, portrait) and what application of features you’re using on the phone.
This is a “you have to see it to believe it” situation especially considering the Samsung Alias2 won’t likely be aimed at a high-end market. It’s an innovative concept and we’re eager to see how, and to what extent, this interesting keyboard is integrated into the phone’s functions.
