The moment many Verizon customers have been waiting for might just arrive later this year in the form of the Motorola Calgary. Rumor has it that the phone, which was rumored earlier in the year, will not only be Motorola’s first ever Android Phone but that it will be sold by Verizon Wireless!

What do you think? It is kind of hard to complain considering most people didn’t think Verizon Wireless would be getting an Android Phone any time in the near future. The Motorola Calgary – likely just a codename – is an attractive slider but the question is will VZW choose to gimp Android and suffocate any of the features so it can sell its own product? I think we all agree that leaving Android as-is would be best for everyone.

Rumors have said the Calgary could come as soon as this summer but I wouldn’t expect it before the holiday season. Of course I’ve been wrong before…
