Something fishy is going on in Verizon’s computer system. Right after the BlackBerry Storm where you might THINK that the word “BlackBerry Storm 2″ should appear there is a “BlackBerry Thunder” listed:

I can only think of 2 possible reasons:

1. Consumers have associated the name “Storm” with “Annoying” so they want to try and start on a clean slate
2. The Thunder is a completely new phone in addition to the BlackBerry Storm 2

Given the history of the Storm/Thunder naming conventions, I’m guessing that Verizon and/or BlackBerry are just using a codename to throw everyone off again. Plus its probably easier to refer to the unreleased version as a different name to prevent any miscommunication and repetitive language. Who knows… any guesses?
