Verizon Gains 1.1 Million Customers in Q2 2009
| by verizon voyager on July 27th, 2009 |
In April, May and June of 2009, Verizon Wireless added a net 1.1 million customers – a pretty stunning figure considering the economic times. It doesn’t quite reach the 1.4 million that AT&T acquired and you can be sure they’re clutching the iPhone 3GS tightly… without that one piece of hardware their figures might be pretty sad.
Tomorrow VZW will report earnings/profit in the 2nd Quarter and we’re curious to see how that 1.1 million plays into the picture. Earnings reports always have a direct impact on stock price, so it’ll be interesting to see if Big Red tempers any negative information with positive outlooks on the horizon.
Even without some of the hottest handsets, Verizon continues to maintain and grow its loyal base of customers. Hopefully as the company will couple an industry leading 4G -network with phones like the iPhone, Pre and Android Phones to make for some of the most deadly combinations of carrier/manufacturer on the planet.
Its certainly possible… ball is in your court Big Red! By the way… Verizon Wireless now has 87.7 million subscribers and is the largest network operator in the United States.
