Verizon LG VX110000… Voyager 2?

by verizon voyager on March 18th, 2009

As spotted by both Waynester on the VV Forums and Engadget Mobile, the LG VX11000 has just passed through the FCC. The LG Voyager launched 1.5 years ago as the LG VX10000 and the phone as enjoyed a great amount of success. We’ve speculated (and prayed) on a Voyager 2… but what does a full 1000 jump in model number mean for the possibilities?

Based on the FCC document and model number you HAVE to think it’s quite obviously headed to Verizon Wireless and the features DO include a Qwerty keypad – an essential element of any Voyager 2.

One thing to note is that in the above picture, the phone looks much more square than the original Voyager and the battery hinge is in a different location. They could have just reversed the battery position and put the hinge in the middle of the phone rather than at the bottom – who knows. It is a bit too early to try making specific guesses but we’ll keep a close eye on this for sure.

All the good stuff was kept confidential. So at this point we’re hoping for leaks and/or official statements. But isn’t that what we’re always hoping for?

I would love to see a new and improved version of this phone.

I was told today by a VZW manager that the Voyager 2 will be a side slide with a full qwerty keyboard. Similar to the SAMSUNG Impression by at&t I sure hope so, if not I am moving to at&t for the samsung, I am so tired of hinges and clamshells, it’s all VZW offers and toucnscreens and blackberrys! What happened to a competitive market, ya VZW has the coverage, but it’s getting old to feel stuck.
