If you’re a Samsung Omnia owner you’ll be happy to know that VerizonWireless is hooking up your phone with a special software update – or already  has – that will add GPS capability to the device. The term “add” may be a bit misleading since the Omnia ALREADY had the capability and Verizon’s software merely blocked its use… they are essentially unblocking it now.

The update began just as the weekend hit so you SHOULD have it by now. We’re unsure if other additions or updates are included with this push but let us know if you notice any increased functionality or changes beyond just GPS.
