Nokia confirms Twist for Verizon Wireless

Although we all knew that Verizon Wireless was going to get the funky little Nokia Twist, Nokia has officially came out and confirmed it along with the release date and price point. From a distance the Twist may seem like any other cheap feature phone but the specs are a bit better than you would guess.

The very interesting Twist has a 3MP camera and full HTML browser for on-the-go browsing. Nokia has gone the distance making this handset very modern but one thing they neglected to do was redesign the S40 UI to follow suit. From what we can tell this CDMA handset is aimed at the younger generation of text-happy teenagers but if it is hard to look at what will compel them to purchase this over any of the other QWERTY devices that Verizon has to offer?

The launch date of September 19th still stands as well as the $149.99 price tag but included is a mail-in rebate of $50 bringing the final cost to just $99. With nothing more than the hardware wow factor we suspect this price will drop fairly quickly.
