Many of us thought that Verizon Wireless was finally going to join the Android ranks with their own Android-powered handset when Motorola announced the new Motorola CLIQ, however this was not the case.
InformationWeek is now stating that Verizon will be getting their first Android-powered handset sometime in the next few weeks. We have not heard anything regarding this launch so it is possible that they could be getting some version of the CLIQ but it’s doubtful.
The source states that Motorola is ready to go on their end and the device is just waiting for Verizon to situate their portion. This just looks like a simple case of Verizon not wanting to share the spotlight with their competitors. I guess we will just have to stand by and wait to see what Verizon has in the hopper.
