Verizon slashes prices on most smartphones to just $99

verizon-logoVerizon Wireless recognizes the squeeze being put on them by AT&T and the iPhone with the new pricing starting at just $99. This is why they have decided to slash the prices on all but two of their available smartphones to just $99 with a two year agreement.

Which two smartphones do you still have to shell out the big bucks for? Unfortunately they are the new BlackBerry Tour and Samsung Saga. This means that the Samsung Omnia, HTC Touch Pro and HTC Touch Diamond are yours for only $99 when you sign a two year agreement.

Many are asking why choose any of these phones over the iPhone? The answer lies in the plan pricing rather than the phone itself. With the iPhone on average you are paying a much higher price for a plan with data included than you would for most other smartphones. There is also the fact that AT&T has become notorious for continually being a terrible service provider for iPhone owners. Bottom line is many customers will now have more of an option when they don’t have much to spend, two points for Verizon!

The only reason I did not go with an Iphone two years ago was because AT&T has terrible service where I lived.

The big selling point for the Iphone for me is the apps. Everything I do online has some app for an Iphone.

Well, Verizon was the only service that works well around here and I do not regret my decision.

Phones “get smarter” everyday. Verizon should do it’s self a favor and stay on top of the trends and consumer demands.
