Verizon Netbooks Coming Soon, HP Mini 1000
| by verizon voyager on March 28th, 2009 |
The netbook rage continues and now, Verizon Wireless is preparing to get in on the action. A Reuters article reports that Verizon could start offering a Netbook by July. The move signals the commoditization of voice and the need for growth – Netbooks with data plans offer a completely new source of revenue and its also something consumers need. So what kind of netbook will Verizon Wireless sell?

See that beauty above? That’s the HP Mini 1000. And oh, wait… what’s this here? A ninja’d Approved Device list directly from Verizon Wireless showing that a “Laptop” will go on sale named “HP Mini 1000 (1151NR) (via BGR)!

That’s big news, folks. What’s even crazier is that people are speculating it might cost only $99 with a 2-year contract! If that’s the case, I might just have to pick me up one of those. It’s good Verizon is getting a headstart because it looks like an Android Nebook and Palm WebOS Netbook won’t be far behind.
Date, price and specs are unknown but if it’s anything like the existing HP Mini 1000 it’ll look something like this:
- 1.6GHz Atom CPU
- 1GB RAM
- 80GB Hard Drive
- 10.1 inch screen
- 1024×576 resolution
- 3 cell battery
- 2.45 pounds
VZW is shakin’ things up!
