Well I updated mine the first day the v09 update was available, wiped out all my games I purchased, called customer service they said for me to redownload the apps again to get credit for it. Did that. Called them up to make a payment over the phone and to get refunded for lost apps. The asshole rep on the phone said they cant give a refund unless the phone had to be replaced and the store would have to refund me and to go to the store and speak with the manager bcos a rep would just say to call customer care and that store have a budget for when the techs wipe out apps to refund customers and said he would not refund my account for the $25 in games i bought. Well I called back to speak to somebody else and he just read the log of what the first tech had said to me. So now I have to go to the store to see what i can do, I think verizon is trying to screw me once again. I had a problem with them like this a year ago and got screwed out of a $30 reconnect fee for something that was their fault. Anybody else getting a cold shoulder from the customer service area like this?

Same here.
They've tried screwing me out of $ too, so I haven't downloaded anything from Verizon in years. Eventually I did get all of my money refunded though. . . as always, ask for a supervisor if you want things done right. Another helpful hint is to not punch in your phone number when prompted. If you do, it transfers you to a local rep instead of randomly routing you to any rep. I live in Houston and every rep I have spoke with through *611 is a complete A-hole and unwilling to keep a loyal customer. . . its like they'd rather just piss me off to boost their ego. The absolute truth is that Verizon is a huge company with $ to spare, and as any wealthy person will tell you, the "nickels and dimes" really do add up. . . just speak to a supervisor and feel free to use my line . . . "I've got a check for $175 that I'm slipping into an envelope and sending your way. Are you sure there is nothing you can do to keep me as a customer?" Honestly, no cell phone company has as good as coverage as Verizon, so I'd have to be crazy to do such a thing. As a supervisor it is their job to keep every customer that they can. Personally that’s how I've upgraded my phone at a promotional price several times in the past. They get more and more tough each year, so be careful not to sound too cocky. I’d call them for you, but unfortunately, I’m not on your plan, lol! Good Luck! |

I had no problems either.
I've heard that some have been super nice and didn't bother to see if you really had downloaded that particular game. Basically they gave you carte blanche to download what you wanted. |

they have to credit you those apps. as long as its the same phone or a replacement phone that is the same model they have to. I have over 200 lines on my business account and have had to go through this countless times.

When I upgraded I lost my games and called CS. They let me download the same games (they checked to see that I indeed downloaded them earlier) without charge. |

Actually...I recently had this problem and they simply said, "the apps are specific to that handset. Verizon will not credit you for them. You will have the apps as long as you have your phone". This annoys me because I'm going on handset number 8 now. I've lost around $100 in apps over time and it's all because LG built these things with crappy charging ports! I'm going to verizon again today...BLAH!!!
